S2 E12 Columbine: 20 Years Later

It has been 20 years, an entire generation, since the landmark mass school shooting that changed everything. Dr. Scott & Dr. Shiloh attempt to bring awareness to the impact the event had on April 20, 1999 and what we have learned since then. They discuss the contagion or “Columbine Effect” of media coverage of mass shootings, murder-suicide & stress event symptomology while not glamorizing the shooting or naming the murderers. They also look at the phenomenon of “Columbiners” and today’s state of school safety.

Although a serious subject, the doctors manage to work in a lighter mood and talk about Dr. Scott’s former dancing career.

S2 E11 Frank Lloyd Wright & His Dark Connections to L.A.

This episode,the docs are bringing it back to LA. They review the genius of iconic architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, and his tragic brush with death that inspired his famous designs in Los Angeles. Additionally, they explore the his son’s most infamous house in the heart of LA with the literal receipts linking it to the most notable unsolved murder in the city.

S2 E8 "What's in the cab?" Highway Serial Killings

This episode bring us all back to our favorite true crime subject, serial killers. And not just your average serial killer, but the special breed of trucker serial killers. Dr. Scott & Dr. Shiloh go into how crime analysts started realizing that highway serial killings was a nationwide epidemic before exploring specific killers featured in the docuseries, The Killing Season, the book Evil That Men Do and the podcast Happy Face, including little known facts about prolific killer Robert Ben Rhoades.

S2 E7 Was the Unabomber an Incel? Interview with Ret. FBI Profiler James R. Fitzgerald

The docs finally find a fascinating way to talk about one of their favorite miniseries, Manhunt: Unabomber. They dish about the show itself and then relate Episode 6’s topics of Incels to Ted Kaczynski with a special guest. Retired FBI profiler and forensic linguist, James R. Fitzgerald, gives his insight into Kaczynski’s sexual development and struggles which was revealed in the Unabomber’s own personal writings. We explore all of this and more to determine whether or not Ted Kaczynski fits the mold of an incel.

S2 E1 Light My Fire

This first episode of Season 2 centers around the criminal behaviors of Arson and the psychological disorder of Pyromania. After being contacted by Frank Girardot, the true crime author, about his recently released book Burned: Pyromania, Murder and a Daughter's Nightmare, Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott decided that it was timely to cover the story of John Orr, the most notorious serial arsonist. In this red-hot episode, they also discuss the phenomenon of firefighters who commit arson and discuss Girardot's book & the made for TV movie, Point of Origin based on the murderer's own screenplay.
